Classified Categories
The City Edition accepts classified ads and business profiles under the following headings:
- Employment - Includes positions offered and sought, volunteering and internships.
- Business Services - All contracting and consultant services not related to health. This includes maid service, personal assistants, financial services, attorneys, construction contractors, dog walkers, etc. (In the case of licensed professions, you must list your license number in the ad.)
- Health, Body and Mind - Covers both western and alternative medicine, clinics, groups, classes, therapeutic massage (no massage parlors), acupuncture, psychic consultants, psychotherapists (but not life coaches), and other healing arts. (In the case of licensed professions, you must list your license number in the ad.) Adult entertainment services (e.g. escort services, suggestive massage, etc.) may not advertise.
- Items for Sale - Covers all items accept real estate. (No pirated CD’s, DVD’s or any other resale of items to which you do not own the rights.)
- Rentals and Real Estate - Covers roommate ads, apartment rentals, time shares, commercial office space available, property for sale and other real estate services.
- Upcoming Events and Seminars - Includes all events (including singles meet and greet), outdoor excursions, sports and religious services.
Important Limitations
All contractors and health care specialists (including massage therapists) must list their license numbers as part of their ads. Unlicensed contractors or practitioners may not advertise. This includes life coaches not formally licensed to practice psychotherapy. The only exception is for occupations not licensed by the state of California (e.g. psychics, business advisors, personal trainers, workshop leaders, etc.).
The City Edition is a PG-rated publication which may be read by minors. We do not accept personal ads, ads for commercial sex ventures, including telephone sex, escort services, suggestive maid services, sex toys and any other activities or services in which sexual activity is explicitly or implicitly advertised.
Individually burned CD’s and DVD’s not belonging to the recording artists may not be advertised as this is a violation of piracy law. Sellers must own the rights of these products or be an authorized retailer in order to advertise them.
It is the advertiser’s responsibility to comply with our content restrictions and other policies listed on the Terms of Service page. Payments for ineligible ads as outlined above will be refunded.
Instructions
Online payment must be made at the time each classified ad is placed. For business profiles, please email your photo or graphic to artwork@thecityedition.com.
We do not accept ads by mail, phone, fax, email or in person, or any typewritten/handwritten copy. All classified ad transactions must be conducted online.
